Electrical Conductivity Equation

LEAD Technologies Inc. V1.01

The electical conductivity in a material is related to the number of negatively and positively charged species (nn and np, respectively), the charges on these species (qn and qp) as well as the mobility of each species (μn and μp). Understanding how to create materials that have appropriate electrical conductivity has allowed for production of a large number of modern electronic items that we use on a daily basis.

To obtain more insight into electronic materials and to see how they can be produced, you need to participate in MTGN415 Electrical Properties and Applications of Matrials presented each spring by Prof. O'Hayre.
