Bio
Yewon Shin is a Research Assistant Professor who received her Bachelor of Science degree from Kyungpook National University, South Korea, and her PhD from the Colorado School of Mines, where she also completed her postdoctoral training. Her research focuses on mixed ionic and electronic conductors for electrochemical applications, including electrolysis and fuel cells. Her work spans fundamental studies through device level cell testing. She investigates thermodynamics and kinetics in functional materials, materials synthesis and processing via dry and wet routes, solid state reactive sintering, and composite development. In addition, she is interested in cell fabrication and the evaluation of electrochemical performance and durability.
